About EarthConvergencebuilt, and honestly labelled

EarthConvergence studies one convergence in two halves. The first half asks whether the signals other species already send can be decoded and scored against chance without fooling ourselves. The second half renders Earth as one addressable world you can move through rather than a pile of datasets you cannot.

Built

What this is

A decode harness. 5 species modules — honeybee, firefly, vervet monkey, brown rat, sperm whale — each with a stated signal, a stated method, a held-out split and a permutation null. The gate is seeded and deterministic: python tournament.py --dry-run regenerates the published numbers exactly. That reproducibility is the part we are actually proud of, and it is a smaller claim than it sounds.

A cross-species research page. 5 anchor species with real binomials, real signal modalities and real published ethology, written with the established results and the 12 open problems given equal weight and equal space.

A Reality Engine. The Hyperweave honeycomb: 1027 hex columns, 5135 volumetric cells, 6 capability colours, 256 named allegiances, and one law — the Hearth at the centre is inviolable. Colour is capability, so the world is readable without a word of tutorial text. Every hex carries the address of a real machine, which is the thesis rather than the decoration.

A world you can walk. The Earth build of the simulator is linked from this site. It is one place you can go from here; it is not what this site is about.

Where the numbers come from

Provenance

Every figure on this site is read from a committed artifact at build time. If a synced artifact changes, the site changes with it — there is no hand-typed statistic anywhere in these pages.

Decoder results
data/decoder-leaderboard.json — the recorded leaderboard, copied verbatim from the harness output. Read on Language Studies.
Ethology
src/lib/content/species.ts— written by hand from the decoder modules’ own docstrings and the literature they cite, under a standing rule of no invented numbers. Read on Cross-Species.
The live world
data/api/ 11 verbatim 200 responses captured from a running world server, including the 1027-column world document. Not fixtures written to look like captures.
World contract
data/world-schema.json — the draft-07 schema the world is validated against. It disagrees with the running generator about the size of the world, and the Reality Engine page shows both numbers.
Colour and allegiance
data/color-wheel.json— the minted palette; every hex value on this site is taken from it, which is why the site’s colours are the world’s colours. Plus data/chromatic-register.json, all 256 allegiances.
Build status
Hyperweave/Project_Infinity_Client/README.md — the upstream client’s own live-versus-stub account, transcribed rather than paraphrased. No row has been promoted on its way onto this site.
Sync
The copies are refreshed by npm run sync:data, which verifies every source exists, is non-empty and parses before it writes anything — so a partial sync is impossible. The copies are committed, so the site builds standalone with no environment variables set.

The editorial rules

How this site is written

  • A small honest claim beats an impressive false one. Where a result is a baseline rather than a trained model, or synthetic rather than recorded, the page says so on the same screen as the number — not in a footnote and not on a different page.
  • No invented figures about animals. There is no population count, range size or lifespan anywhere on this site. Quantities are either physical properties of a signal channel, values attributed to the literature, or parameters of our own generator explicitly labelled as ours.
  • Real species and game creatures are never counted together. 5 real animals with binomials live on the cross-species page. The 9 code-animals in the world simulator are software concepts wearing an animal shape, and every count of them says so.
  • Nothing is presented as working that is not. Stubs are labelled stubs, out-of-slice features are labelled absent, and the disagreement between the world schema and the world generator is printed rather than resolved in whichever direction reads better.
  • The operator’s own infrastructure is not published. The captured world document contains host names, absolute local paths and private-range addresses. None of them is rendered by this site.

Massive Dynamic Labs

EarthConvergence is a Massive Dynamic Labs product, and it is built the way the lab builds things: the decoders run on hardware you own, the world data is committed rather than fetched, and this site needs no environment variable to build and no running service to render. If it cannot work without a credential, it does not ship here.
